Tom Brady Does his Best Rapunzel

We here at Downright Right like two things, fiscally conservatism and New England sports. And with the Bruins and Celtics off to good starts but with a long road ahead and the Red Sox not close enough to the new season for my insane Adrian Gonzalez lust to come out, the Patriots win the post. This being my first sports post, I think I need to let you know a little bit about my fandom. I am what some might call a perpetual optimist. Others might say I have no sense of reality. Deep down I truly beleive every game will end 70-0 and all 4 major sports will win a title in the same year. (I'll recognize the revolution when the eastern conference finals aren't between them and a team from CA) So the patriots got a democrat sized shellacking on sunday courteousy of the Brown stains. It's tough to hate on the Browns because they play football like a teenage playing NFL Blitz in 1999 while waiting for his porn to finish downloading via AOL. (Or Compuserve, like one person I know had) It was a trap game, whatever the hell that means. But I'm with Vince Lombardi in thinking you learn more from winning than losing. Look at the 2008 Superbowl. Had they lost to the Giants in the season finale, they probably would have won the Superbowl. (Instead a far superior Giants team won based solely on the luckiest catch ever) So I am as hopeful as Iceland (let's face it, they have no where to go but up) and believe the Patriots will win the Superbowl. First, Tom Brady and his flowing main will find a rhythm with this new offense. Everyone talks about new players but it also takes time for the veterans to learn how to play with them. Second, Big Daddy Wilfork wants a ring. Needs a ring. And when a man the size of a Buick wants something, struggle all you want, but it's going to happen. Third, our young defense. I would rather take raw talent you have to teach than skill that will never go anywhere. (Kwame Brown agrees, he's sitting with me in the library right now) And lastly, old Bear Paws himself, Bill Belichek. Anyone that dirty looking has to be a genius. Also, he seems like the type of guy that's a total douche but only because he'll back it up. Well taking a fine every week because you're afraid of sleeves the way I'm afraid to hang my feet off the edge of the bed is that kind of cockiness. (Also, the challenge flag in your sock. He will be the Joe Pa lunatic old man coach of the NFL) So you can tell I'm psyched for the 70-0 drubbing we're about to drop on Handsy McGee and the Steelers. One other thing you should know about me, I am literally always wrong with predictions. Some are because of bold assertions (Bartolo Colon winning the cy young two years ago) and some are just plain stupid. (Imagine just how stupid if Colonoscopy winning a cy young didn't make make the cut)

  2. Hey guys,

Bit of feedback for you, breaking up your posts into paragraphs would make them a lot more palatable. Tossing in the occasional photo wouldn't hurt either. For me, I see a huge block of text and just don't feel an urge to read it instead of the various other articles I could read.

Also, you might want to consider sticking to 1-2 posts per day. Lots of content is great but it risks saturating the market to the point where people just ignore new entries because it's the 5th time that day.

Sorry if this was less than tactful feedback. Was just writing and didn't really take time to mold the wording.

    Hope this is helpful,

    Jon

  3. Thanks for the feedback. I know you view a lot of these and we've already started implementing some of the things you mentioned. This is a learning process and we welcome all constructive feedback.
